We were just looking for a motel for a night, so this is rather out of the way, but looked interesting and had a good price. It's actually designed for large groups, and is perfect for a family or business event. The room was a good size with lots of storage. Very clean. Breakfast was the usual motel fare but with real china and flatware! Check-in is online. It's easy but be sure to read the directions or you won't figure it out. We would go again for sure.

The hotel is charming. It was very convenient to the MSU campus. We had three people in our room so it did feel small to us. My husband adored the snacks that were provided and he drank both of the cokes lol. It was nice to be able to walk to the lobby and order something from the bar. I loved all the instructions that they left in the room so that you knew where things were and how things worked. I loved the decor and the amenities. The staff in the lobby was exceptional. I would absolutely go back.

The best place we've stayed in a while. The place has a cool, almost cinematic vibe. Quiet, safe, comfortable. Very clean and peaceful. The staff was outstanding and the rooms had everything we needed. Stocked with a couple of snacks and beverages. There is a stocked bar with a great host and their on signature coxtails. The mini-market was self check out, and filled with your favorite snacks. Continental breakfast was available, but we slept in. There was nothing we wanted for. Being away from town let us focus on one another, wind down, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommend The Tangerine. I wish them all the best.

We stayed here for the weekend for a wedding at the Hill and Moor and would highly recommend it! The rooms are exactly as pictured, spotlessly clean and generously stocked with drinks and snacks. Staff was great, there are lovely outdoor patio seating areas and a small but nice lounge area with a bar and breakfast. It may seem a little remote but is only 10 miles from Starkville. 10/10 for sure!

Stayed on 1/23/26. My Husband and I arrived late from visiting with our Daughter. This place will definitely be our to-go spot when we vist Starkville. We've stayed at many spots in Starkville and have had issues. The Tangerine Motel is about 19 mins from our Daughter's apartment. Got the room for a good price for one night. It's secluded and peaceful. The bed, so so comfortable! We wanted to catch breakfast before we left but didn't because we slept in It was super cold out when we arrived and the room warmed up quickly and stayed warm. We slept with both the fan and heat on to help circulate the air. The room was super clean, they had complimentary snacks, water, and soft drinks (Thank you guys for this!). I'd recommend getting food from Starkville before heading out because again, it's secluded. Would have loved to have a microwave in the room to warm our food up but that won't stop us from returning. Highly recommend this place to anyone if you're in the area.

I’m giving the Tangerine Motel in Crawford, Mississippi a full 5 out of 5. First off, the boutique vibe is totally on point…the whole place has this cool, unique charm. The grounds? Absolutely gorgeous and super well-kept. It’s kind of amazing they turned an old school into such a cozy hotel. Breakfast was a win too…nice to have both hot and cold options so you can pick what you’re in the mood for. Plus, there’s a spot to grab a drink, which is always a nice touch. And big shoutout for being pet-friendly…my dogs were living their best lives. I loved the bookshelf, loved having some good reads around, and the bathroom was spotless. Overall, it just felt super clean and comfy. Definitely a place I’d come back to.And under $150 a night. ‼

We were heading home (New Orleans) from a vacation in New England and wanted to stop about halfway down the Natchez Trace. I found this place by looking for lodging along the route by doing a Google search. It looked like a unique place to stay and priced appropriately, so I reserved it for a night. Unequivocally, I am happy that I did. It’s a beautiful facility, an old school, and the room was fantastic. One wall was a huge bookcase filled with books, the shower in the bathroom was top notch, the bed extraordinarily comfortable, and the area was as serene as could be. The proprietor kept in touch with me via text and I always knew that if I needed anything I could reach out. Breakfast was continental, but everything you could want for a traveler. Great coffee, and a good selection of light breakfast fare. Could not have asked for more and have already told folks that I know about the place. If by chance you were visiting family in Starkville or any surrounding area, I promise it is well worth your time to stay here. One thing to note, there are several ways to access this Motel. Look at your map and if it says the road may be dirt or gravel it is which is not a real issue, but can be a challenge in the dark with no lights to guide the way. Choose the paved road even if it’s a few minutes out of your way. For me, it didn’t matter because I’m used to real country road driving, but it might surprise some folks if they’re not prepared for it. Easily four stars. Stay here if you have the opportunity.
